Almost 50 years ago, it started with an idea by someone in Houston to provide an opportunity for craftspeople to sell their goods and shoppers to buy early Christmas gifts.

It evolved, eventually taken over by the Houston Lions. Many area craft shows have come and gone, but this one is still going strong.

Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Auxiliary President Judy Munson has been helping with the annual craft fair for over 40 years. It is put on by the Houston Lions to raise funds for resident gifts and items needed at the nursing home.

Cassidy Oldenburg picked up some gifts. Jasper Ceasar got a new wooden truck. Lincoln Oldenburg got a new tractor and wagon.

Woodcarver Craig Heuser, Silver Fox Chainsaw Art, chatted with Jeannie Feldmeier. She had purchase a carved crane from him previously and told him that a woodpecker kept pecking her carving, so they moved it inside.
